Past Simple — Explanation

We use the past simple to talk about actions that started and finished in the past.

Form

• Regular verbs: verb + -ed — played, visited, watched
• Irregular verbs (different forms) — go → went, see → saw, have → had

Examples

• I visited my grandparents yesterday.
• She didn't watch TV last night.
• Did you go to the party?
